Another huge pothole was spotted Wednesday on a Ho Chi Minh City street, leaving street users in panic.
The pothole on Nguyen Van Dau Street in Binh Thanh District is around 50 centimeters in width and 1 meter in depth.
Nearby residents raised several barricades to warn motorists of the pothole.
Workers of a drainage company found some signs of leakages in the drainage pipe under the road surfaces.
HCMC dwellers recently sent their opinions to local newspapers, including Tuoi Tre, expressing concern and fear about the potholes on many streets caused by careless drainage and other works.
Two people died last weekend because of careless road works in the city.
A 30-year-old man was riding a bicycle in Thu Duc District’s flooded To Ngoc Van Street Sunday evening when he fell into an open manhole and was swept away by the swift waters.
Earlier, on Saturday, Ha Thi Tuyet Mai, 42, was run over by a truck when her motorcycle toppled after hitting a manhole cover in Kha Van Can Street also in Thu Duc.
She died instantly but her 13-year-old son escaped unhurt after falling on the pavement.
